I could go on and on with this topic so I’ll try and limit this post to one common denominator: the new Buckley Home. I think Chris will agree with me when I say that there has never been a time when we’ve asked for your advice more (only because we have no kids yet :-D). Just this morning I called home for a toilet question. Yes... you read that right. Feeling completely relieved and more knowledgeable after talking to both parents, mom mentioned that she recently told my aunt, “Just you wait! Once Steve buys himself a house you’ll be talking to him every day.” Ha! Very true, mom, very true.
Each of our parents has helped out in so many different ways so I’ll stick to the big points. Let’s just start at the beginning....
**The Buying Process**
Linda - Chris’s mom and our Realtor

Chris and I got so lucky that Linda has her Real Estate License. She was able to not only make sure that we knew what each paragraph of our contract meant, but also that we had our rear ends covered in every way possible. All those hours spent pouring over legal jargon... we really couldn’t have done it without you, Linda.
Jerry - Chris’s step-dad and our Contractor

Jerry builds houses! He was able to tell us how well the house was built from pictures, if they cut corners in certain places, and what we should ask the inspector. After the inspector came, he went over the report, understood the lingo, and explained the comments that we were curious about. Jerry has also offered to help us if we ever decide to close up the game room or office.
**Settling In**
Brian - Chris’s dad and our Lawn Expert

One of the things that Chris looked forward to the most with this house was having a lawn to take care of. It wasn’t too long after we moved in before Brian was getting phone calls about which lawn mower/weed eater/leaf blower he thought would be best, how often he thought we should water the lawn, what weed killers to use... So far so good! The lawn looks great.
Anne & Caney - my parents and our General Advisors

I get a LOT of ideas from my mom. Since we bought the house I’ve asked her opinion on all kinds of things. Last week she gave me the idea for a simple spring rod to easily put up and take down in the bathroom to block out some light when it’s hot out. She is the first person I call about most everything and if she can’t answer it, my dad probably can. Back home in Tennessee he is always piddling with some project. He likes to say “your mama is making me do it” but we all know better. ;) When they came down to visit mom helped me pick out paint colors and bathroom decor and dad helped us paint the rooms and install fixtures. Going back to my earlier statement about the toilet - one has been randomly running lately and I called up dad to ask what I should do. Now I know what part I need to replace. That was just this morning. Who knows what other questions I’ll have by the end of the day... :)
Ahhhhh, Parents! Chris and I can’t thank you enough for all that you have done for us. We miss you and can’t wait to see y’all again!
